Here goes..
So I've decided to go for one of these weblogs blog thingies.
Figure my life is mildly interesting so some people must want to read about it. Quick bit about me: male, 23 years old, live in Cheshunt (just outside north London), work for a bank at the moment. Hoping to change that soon though.
I went to Aston University in Birmingham. Graduated with a 2:1 in Combined Honours Computer Science & German. Realised half way through the course that Computer Science was severely boring and not what I wanted to do when I left. Luckily the German part of the course picked up so it wasn't all that bad and ended up with the result I wanted.
I spent 14 months working in Frankfurt, Germany as part of my degree course. Probably the best year (and a bit) of my life. Was out there with a great bunch of people. Got up to all sorts of stuff and managed to travel to quite a few places in Europe.
Now my main hobby is watching football. I have a season ticket to watch Spurs, the greatest under-achieving team in England. Last year I went to all but 4 of their games, home and away. They can be ridiciculously frustrating at times as they have enough good players to be successful but are never consistent enough.
The season finished almost a month ago and I'm looking forward to the next one. Some 'experts' have come up with this thing called "End of season affective disorder" which they reckon 9.2 million supporters suffer from. It's basically withdrawal symptoms due to not getting our regular 'fix' of football. Think I'm a definite sufferer
Thanks for reading!!
Got a meeting today about a potential new job. Sounds pretty ideal as I'm stuck in a dead-end job at the moment. Only went there as something to do after graduating from Uni but been there 9 months now so time to move on.
Playing badminton after the meeting this afternoon. Bought a new racquet a couple of weeks ago and this will be the first time I use it so may take a bit of getting used to. Playing with my brother and a couple of his workmates at the local leisure centre.
Time for lunch now. Think I'll do myself some pasta. Might post again this evening.

Posh Noodle, expensive taxi
Spent so long on the internet earlier that I didn't have time to cook the pasta so opted for a Posh Noodle instead. Pot Noodles were a staple part of my diet in my first year at uni but hadn't tried one of these new ones before. Had the spicy chilli flavour. Very nice indeed. Much finer noodles than the standard version.
Went off to the meeting with the job agency in the afternoon. Had a bit of a nightmare journey. My bus didn't turn up so I had to get one halfway then order a taxi. While I was waiting for the taxi my bus turned up but it wouldn't have got me there on time. The taxi cost me 8 quid which I wasn't exactly overjoyed about when it would have been an 80p bus trip but it was better than being late. Wouldn't have made a very good impression.
Meeting went fairly well I think. Had to do a couple of aptitude tests which I will get the results for in a few days.
Badminton went OK. Won 2, lost 2. New racquet took a bit of getting used to as it seems to be a different length to my old one.
Had a chicken korma for dinner and now watching Legally Blonde again - just cos it's on TV and my Dad had control of the remote before we got back.
Got to find a way to waste what's left of the evening now.

Ended up watching the film Rules of Engagement last night followed by the Michael Essany show, which is kind of like an American version of the Kumars. Some lad has got his parents to set up a TV studio in their house. Last night's episode was pretty funny but that was probably more down to the guest, comedian/actor Tom Green (from Road Trip and Freddy Got Fingered, also Drew Barrymore's ex) than the host, who is a bit smarmy.
Got a driving lesson later before working this evening. Got my test in a few weeks so going for a drive near the test centre.
Going to the cinema after work. The cinema is just down the road from work so quite a few of us have bought Unlimited cards, which mean for £9.99 a month we can go as often as we like instead of coughing up £6 a film. Think we're seeing Bringing Down The House with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah which I've heard mixed reviews about. Not so fussed about seeing a few lame films when it costs virtually nothing after you've seen the big films out each month.
Best films I've seen recently are The Matrix Reloaded and Old School - top notch comedy.
Will be keeping an eye on the 2nd Test between England and Zimbabwe over the next few days. I like most sports except golf, although football is my main one, and tend to watch what I can on TV when I'm not at work or off watching Spurs playing somewhere.

Bringing Down The House
When this film started I was worried it was going to be a very predictable comedy. The opening scenes were similar to You've Got Mail with two people forming a relationship over the internet. One of them a hot-shot lawyer who constantly disappoints his ex-wife and kids due to work commitments - like Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar.
Once the female lead Charlene (Queen Latifah) was actually introduced it picked up remarkably and turned out to be a very enjoyable comedy as she tries to persuade tax lawyer Steve Martin to help her clear her name for an armed robbery she claims she was framed for.
Highlights included a fight scene which would have put the Matrix to shame (well, almost) and Martin's valiant attempts at getting 'street'. Eugene Levy (the Dad from American Pie puts in another superb cringe-worthy performance in his attempts to woo Charlene.
More than enough funny moments to make it worth seeing. 7/10

Saw Bringing Down The House last night. I've written a brief review in the Film Reviews section.
Driving lesson went OK. A new clutch with a different biting point and new trainers which made the pedals feel completely different didn't help though.
The agency rang me about another potential job so I've asked them to send my CV off for that one as well. It's a bit further away than the others I've been looking at. Probably about 45mins to an hour's drive. Or 2 hours on the train as I'd have to go into London and back out again which would probably cost a bit as well. I'm hoping to have my driving licence before I start any new job so travelling shouldn't be an issue except for maybe getting to an interview.
Got a full day at work today 11-9. Will spend the last 4 hours training a new member of staff which is a bit less stressful than the usual work routine but can't wait until I get my evenings back!! Should be time well spent in the pub especially on a Friday not sitting around with a skeleton staff answering about 2 phone calls per hour.
Just trying to decide whether to get the train to work that gets me there in loads of time or wait for the next one which gets me there just about on time as long as it's not running late. Always used to get the first one but lately, as my hatred for my job has increased, it's started being the second one a lot more often.
It's going to be the second one. Mainly because my indecisiveness meant that I've now not got time to make it to the station for the first one.
Better get ready for work and make sure I don't miss the other one.

Finally finished work for the week. Had to do 9-1 earlier which really gets in the way of the weekend.
Just booked some travel insurance for our holiday to Sweden in July. Got 25% discount cos I work for a different part of the same group of companies so in my parent's good books for a while. We're goint to Sweden cos my nephew's getting married out there so we're going for that and then dragging it out to a week. Planning to spend most of it drunk and away from the rest of my family. Likely to be a fairly expensive week though.
Got to print out some registration forms for a qualification I want to study called CIMA. That's going to cost me as well so I'll put another dent in my credit card limit. Hoping to get a job soon where I can get get the rest of my studying paid for by the company.
Really short of ideas for things to write about today - in case you hadn't already noticed!!

Has anyone else noticed that the more the internet expands, the less different websites you actually look at?
