Went to the pub last night for my manager's leaving do. Shared a taxi over to Fleet as the buses stop running at 7.
The pub was pretty busy but we managed to nab a corner of it for ourselves. Was ridiculously warm. Had to keep standing by the door to try and get some cool air.
Wasn't originally planning on going clubbing as I thought I'd have to get a taxi back with the others who weren't going to the club or be stranded in Fleet and coughing up for a cab in the early hours. One of the other graduates said her mum was picking her up (bribed with a bottle of wine) and she could give me a lift home as it was kind of on the way.
Went to the infamous Jaxx. Wasn't there long enough to really appreciate it's awfulness. The kind of place you go to with a big bunch of mates when you're drunk and it's good fun but then constantly swear you'll never go there again.
Watched most of Soccer AM this morning with a bacon sarnie getting me set for the day. Got an earlier train than usual as I wanted to get to the pub in time to see some of the semi-final.
Got to the tube platform at Waterloo just in time to see the tube doors closing and my mate Charlie grinning at me me from one of the seats on the departing tube. He was waiting for me when I got to Oxford Circus though.
Got the bus down from Seven Sisters to Bootlaces to meet another mate Mark who'd travelled down from Carlisle. We managed to end up both buying beers for each other at the same time so stood in the corner with a good stock of alcohol to get us through the 2nd half of the semi-final. A cracking result for United, purely because it puts paid to the Scum's chances of a treble.
The Spurs result wasn't so good however and I headed home straight after the game. Have been sat watching the cricket since I got back. Looks like England are going to wrap up a third win and take the series.
Quiet day planned for tomorrow. Will be watching all the football Sky sends, no doubt. Missus is back tomorrow so have to make the flat look a bit more presentable than it does at the moment. Planning a big fry up for the morning. Marvellous.
